For the first time during the preseason, the Patriots [team stats] employed the newly allowed head-set communication system for the defense in Friday night’s loss to the Eagles.
Tedy Bruschi [stats] and Mike Vrabel each had the green dots on the back of their helmets, signifying they could receive playcalls from the sideline when they were in the game.
Coach Bill Belichick said the system was used throughout the first half and to a lesser degree in the third quarter.
