season wrap up
February 4, 2008

First off, I think we're all disappointed with the Patriots and the way they played yesterday but they did have a great season. It just goes to show that no matter how well you play in the regular season, its the playoffs that matter. The winning streak was great but I still would of preferred a Super Bowl win with a loss in the regular season. Priorities. It would of be great if the Pats could find it in themselves to make another run at it but I am sure we'll all be weary of it too if things were to fall into place. I won't be relaxed til a Super Bowl trophy is well in hand....

The Giants really were the 2001-2 Patriots. They beat an offensive machine. Isn't the mantra, defense wins Championships coming back to bite us on the butt? The Giants' defense certainly found a way to get to Tom Brady. And that was the main engine for the team. The Patriots defense certainly wasn't as good as in past Championship teams.

Hopefully Bill and co will work on fixing the defense and getting some corners. Asante will probably be gone; Rosie too. Tedy, Junior, Rodney might all be gone as well though I think the Pats will be able to get a couple of them back. A couple of the guys might retire. I can see a modest turnover on the defense.

The offense won't need as much work. I think they can get Randy back. Dante Stallworth will probably be gone but the Pats should be able to find a wide receiver of his caliber. Its hard to improve on the highest scoring offense ever. Now if they could get the offensive line to show up.

Troy Brown will probably retire too.

The upcoming NFL draft should be interesting....

And in a bizarre twist, I wonder if Sen. Spector and co will go after the Patriots as much on Spygate now? Hmmm

Just to put things in perspective though....We, in Boston, are a spoiled lot. Three Super Bowl victories in the last seven years. The Pats will be in contention for another Super Bowl next season. We got two World Series Champions with the Red Sox within the last four years and the Boston Celtics are making some noise this season. The Bruins..uhh nevermind. Don't be so down. Fans from other cities would kill to have just one Championship team and we have at least two or three.

No wonder the rest of the country hates Boston. They're just jealous. It sucks more to be them than us.

I'll gladly take what we have had, over nothing at all....

We're all disappointed in what happened but sh-t happens. The boys will be back, better than ever.....

Thanks to you guys for making it a fun season.

Is it September yet???
