New England Patriots vs New York Giants 8:15pm EST
Tonight's game is for history. Will the New England Patriots be able to capture the unbeaten regular season crown or will the Giant's come up with the huge upset? The hype all week has been overwhelming. And most likely the game will be a huge dud. I don't know about you guys, but I'm sick of the hype. I don't know how the Pats' players deal with it.
The New England Patriots should win tonight's game. At least on paper, even if the Giant's play their starters, they won't win. But that doesn't mean they can't.
The Giant's defense is probably their best part of their team. They are ball hawks and have a very good pass defense. They also can get to the quarterback and have the most sacks in the league. The big question is how long will these guys play? If they play for most of the game, I would expect it to be a closer game than I would like. If Tom Coughlin backs off, the score could easily run up.
The loss of Nick Kaczur and Stephen Neal will add more pressure to the Patriots offensive line. They will have to make sure to protect and give Tom Brady time to pass. Not an easy task.
Tom Brady should be able to break a lot of records. The most points scored and the TD record should fall rather easily. Hopefully the guys can get all of this stuff out of the way in the first half. The sooner they can do all this, the sooner they will be on the sidelines. Hopefully we'll see Randy Moss making some spectacular catches in the end zone!!
As soon as they do, I would expect the Patriots' starters to be out of the game.
I do worry about flukey plays and tipped balls. The Giants certainly have shown they get a lot of turnovers that way. The Patriots will have to watch out for it.
I think Wes Welker will have a good game. Lots of short passes.... Towards the end of the game, I would think that Maroney will get some big yards too.
The Patriots defense will be tested by the Giants running game. The Giant's will certainly try to hold onto the ball through their running game. I don't expect too much from Eli Manning. He never seems to have good games at home. Will we see Mr Puss-face? GRIN
The Patriots defense should get some turnover and interceptions.
As if the Pats needed anymore motivation, the taunt by linebacker Antonio Pierce made earlier this week was stupid. Will teams ever learn? Hopefully not. Of course, he might not be playing so it won't matter.
All in all, it should be a pretty good game, at least for the first half. I just don't see the Patriots losing but I won't be surprised to see a close game. There are so many strategies that could change over the course of the game so its kind of hard to predict what exactly will happen.
Hopefully this won't be the end of the line for the Patriots and they can get four more wins.
Go Pats!!!
